NFL Board Classroom Points
The NFL Board will be used as a Positive Behavioral System in each class (session); in connection with the Individual Behavioral Card System (see below). Each class (session) will decide on a team name and design a helmet or football. The teams will accumulate 5 yards each week when no more than 5 students flip to a blue card on the individual behavioral system during that particular week. This behavior system is used to build a sense of community, support and respect for each other as well as a class. The Am session will compete with the PM session as a class not individually.
Classroom incentives:
* 20 yards = recess for the entire class
· 35 yards= Choice of computer game
· 50 yards= Popcorn and approved movie
· 100 yards= pizza party for lunch
Classroom consequences:
If the class (session) does not earn any yardage then they simply don’t earn the incentives. Yards can be taken away at the teachers’ discretion at any time; if this happens the teacher will fully explain why the yards were taken from the class.

Individual Color Card Behavior System
We will be using the “Pull a
Card” system within our classroom. Each
child will have four colored cards. The color order is: green, yellow, blue and red. As a class we will have a "Courtesy Contract" (class rules). The "Courtesy Contract" has non-negotiable rules and replacement behaviors.
Non-Negotiable Rules:
1. Do Not Shout Out
2. Use your work language
*No cursing
*No Name calling
*No saying "Shut-Up"
*No laughing when someone makes a mistake!
3. Use your manners :)
*Raise Your Hand
*Be nice to Everyone
*Say "Please" and "Thank-You"
Replacement Behaviors:
1. Silent Scream (Mrs. Baltutat will show you)
2. Take a personal time out
- the student may put their head down and count silently to 5, then rejoin the group
3. Give the "I need to stretch" signal (Mrs. Baltutat will show you)
- stretch while you count to 3.
**Replacement behaviors can be done without consequences- these are in place to help diffuse a situation, prevent the child from pulling cards; as well as teach him/her there are other choices available**
Here is how it all comes together:
Consequences:
1st Reminder= Non-Verbal warning given by Mrs. Baltutat.
2nd Reminder= Verbal warning and student will pull his/her "Green" card.
3rd Reminder= Pulling of “Yellow” card, and a written behavior note will be sent to the parents or Mrs. Baltutat will call home to parents.
4th Reminder= Pulling of the "Blue" card. This means you are now on “Red”. When a student reaches this point several things may happen depending on the infraction of his/her behavior.
*If the behavior is not of a serious nature (fighting, hitting, etc,) then the student will complete a reflection page. This is where the student will draw or write what was causing him or her to behave in the manner in which they were behaving; or what he or she will do next time. This allows the student to reflect on his/her behavior and come up with choices for next time.
*If the behavior is more serious then the teacher will have the option to either send the student to the office to have a talk with Mr. Skelton regarding the behavior; or the teacher will make a phone call home to the parents to discuss the child's behavior.
*If a student is repeatedly pulling cards to the "Red" card, it may be necessary to set up an individual behavior plan- parents will be notified if this is necessary.
Rewards:
At the end of each week before dismissal your child will receive a good behavior ticket if he or she has not pulled their card to "Blue" card. Students will keep their tickets in a baggie and be able to redeem them for prizes every two weeks. The number of tickets that can be redeemed will vary with the prizes available.
Students may also receive a “Kindness” token when they have been caught being kind to another student. When a student receives this token then he/she will get to choose an extra prize from the class box.
